Formal Belle Wig Styling by senior007 Formal Belle Wig Styling by senior007
This is something I have been asked a few times to do. I can honestly tell you I was hesitant because I guess like so many artists, I like to guard my secrets. But I guess this will give a little insight into how I styled my Belle wig.
I needed to restyle it anyways so I figured now was a good time to take pictures and finally do a tutorial.

I'll try and keep it simple.

I used a lot of reference photos From Disney Parks Of Belle's Hair! Also working with Belle often at Disney while in costuming helped a lot!! Girl always has perfect hair and I am just aiming to recreate that as best I can without being a professional stylist... This was a touch and go job.

Photo 1-3: These photos are of my wig without any styling. For the record, this wig is a $26 wig that I purchased at a Halloween store. I don't consider it as professional of quality as my Aurora Wig, but it does a decent job of holding it's shape.

Photo 4:I sectioned the wig off into the 6 parts that I feel make up the wig. There is a high pony tail and a low ponytail. It takes some working with but after you get the hang of it, properly sectioning the wig off isn't too hard.

Photo 5: After creating the two ponytails in the back I Separated the front sections in half and pinned back the bottom section of the two. If you look at Belle's hair in the parks, you can see there are clearly two sections. This creates the bottom most section and will cover most of the 'holes' in the wig so it's starts to look somewhat natural again.

After working the bottom of the front sections, I teased the top part with a ton of hairspray to create the front two bumps. You'll have to work with this a little bit to get it right, but Let me tell you, Bobby pins will become your best friend when it comes to getting the shape right for this front part of the wig.

There is one thing that I will say with Belle's hair.. I'm not sure how she gets her bun on top of her head so impeccably formed!! I cheated a little bit. The bun is made by using a Synthetic ponytail clip purchased from Walgreens. Talk about a life saver!!! Clip it over the top ponytail and it's like BOOM! Instant bun!! Add the yellow band, and it completes the wig!!

Lots of hairspray really is going to be needed to help keep this style in place!!But work with it a few times and you'll find what works best for you in terms of styling.

Photos 6-8: The finished wig!!!

I hope this helps anyone looking to style a Formal Belle Wig!! If you have any more questions please feel free to send me a note, or comment!!

One question: How do you get her yellow band to stay in place without pinning so you can see the pins?

It's sewn in place. A bit of a hassle when restyling, but it holds better than any pin ever could
